Disclaimer: Whilst every attempt will be made to ensure all aspects of the conference mentioned in this announcement will take place as scheduled, the organiser may make changes to the program content and presenters should the need arise. This Level 2 Cardiac MR course is directed to Cardiologists, Radiologists and Nuclear Medicine Physicians, who wish to achieve Level 2 SCMR (Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance) accreditation. The content has been specifically designed to satisfy approximately 50% of the Level 2 requirements, including 25 live CMR cases and an additional 50 CMR cases manipulated on workstations with supervision by teaching faculty.
The course covers a wide variety of clinical material ranging from myocardial viability, perfusion, cardiomyopathy imaging, as well as valvular heart disease, pericardial disease and congenital heart disease. The course is clinically relevant and makes comparison with other imaging modalities including coronary angiography and echocardiography.
SCMR Level 2 specialised training is designed to provide the skills necessary to independently interpret CMR imaging studies. Note that for full Level 2 accreditation at least three months training (not necessarily continuous or at a single institution but to be completed within two years) under the aegis of preferably a Level 3 qualified mentor is necessary. It includes supervised interpretation of at least 150 CMR cases representing the range of abnormalities observed in practice and including at least 50 of these as live cases.
